With the threat of a swine flu pandemic, one wonders about the Swine flu Indiana –
how serious was it? If reports are to be believed, public health authorities saw the
influenza virus affect people all across the US much later than the usual season. In
Indiana, the flu virus spread rapidly and though the Center for Disease Control and
Prevention in the state reported six swine flu related deaths in the US at that time, there
were only four cases of hospitalizations in Indiana itself.

The majority of those who were infected in Indiana were young adults or children, and
63 out of the cases were between the ages of 5 and 24 years. There were no cases of
people above the age of 65 who had the disease. The swine flu has a nature that is
unpredictable and therefore it is wise for those who already have complications and
other diseases like asthma and diabetes etc, pregnant women and those with less
immunity to be vigilant and take all precautions against infection.

Reports and studies prove that one cannot take a chance with this flu virus. As not
much is known about this disease except that this type of virus is asymptomatic during
the incubation period and thus the symptoms are not detected. The incubation period
lasts from 2 to 7 days.

One has to make sure that personal hygiene is maintained at a very high level. All
surfaces that are most likely to get contaminated can be sprayed with the Smittstopp
spray. This spray adheres tightly to any surface material and works on the principle of
“electrostatic attraction”. After the spray dries, it leaves behind a thin layer of positively
charged cationic polymer that attracts the negatively charged anionic microorganisms
(viruses and bacteria). These viruses get stuck to the sprayed surface like flies to
flypaper, and get instantly killed. This prevents the viruses from breeding and
spreading into the environment.

The Smittstopp spray can be sprayed on clothes too. Tests have proved that the effect
of the spray does not wear off even after twenty washes. One can even spray the
facemask inside out to double the protection against the swine flu virus. Public areas
like toilets, malls, hotels, restaurants, schools and educational institutions, libraries,
parks and industrial offices can be sprayed with the Smittstopp spray. Health
authorities should make the spraying of all taps, switches, railings, knobs and handles
etc in places that can be easily infected to keep the people safe.

Personal items like keys, cell phones, purses and handbags etc can also be sprayed.
Common cleaners or sprays should not be used over the Smittstopp sprayed surfaces
because they are negatively charged and will automatically neutralize the effect. The
spray is also a cleaner that cleans the surface of all dirt, fats and grease etc, and a
disinfectant as well.

Reading reports on the swine flu Indiana and other states all across the US tell us that
Global Authorities have taken the threat of a pandemic seriously and recommended
strict precautionary measures to curb the outbreak. Symptoms of the flu virus include
fever, cough and sneezing, sore throat, acute breathing and respiratory disorders,
diarrhea, body ache, headache, persistent vomiting, fatigue etc. Early detection and
good medical care increases chances of total recovery.
